Maker Co-Op Platform is here

The friendly and free forever web platform for makers, crafters & streamers to make co-operative projects. —> www.projects.olohuone.fi

A simple way for creators to team up

Turn your ideas into real projects by easily finding the right people — no middleman, no complicated contracts, just makers helping makers.

The Problem

Right now everything feels scattered and complicated. You can find someone for a quick job on marketplaces, chat and get inspired in communities, or organize tasks in project tools — but nothing lets you easily go from “I have an idea” all the way to “we built it together”.

Nothing connects the full journey: idea → find helpful people → build together.

What We’re Building

A platform for idea → find helpful people → build together in a project

No forced fees. No gatekeepers.
Anyone can start a project — hobby, learning, streaming build, or serious creation. Teams form naturally and can change from project to project, just like in open-source communities.

Whether you’re a beginner wanting to learn, a streamer building on stream, or an experienced maker looking for fun collaborations — you’re welcome here and you can be part of a community.

What will be included

The platform will have these main parts:

1. Maker Profiles Your own page where you describe yourself. You can add:

  • What you’re good at (skills & tools)
  • What you like to build (CNC, 3D printing, electronics, streaming setups, etc.)
  • Portfolio links or photos
  • Whether you’re open to join projects (hobby or paid)
  • Showroom / gallery for your work projects
  • List your streaming platforms
  • List your own webshop and monetize platforms

Example of listing the skills. You can search people based on skills, tools etc…
You can add filters to filter out results based on any field you like. You can also use ”Search” on the report listing.

2. Projects
Anyone can create a project. You write what you want to build, add some photos or description, and choose if it’s:

  • Just for fun / learning
  • Revenue share
  • Paid collaboration (no money transfer inside the platform)
  • Your own operation model

3. Teams
People can apply or get invited to specific roles. Once they join, the team forms automatically. The same person can be in several projects at the same time.

Everything is simple and relaxed — no complicated contracts or high pressure (Every project and task can be separatily specified and agreed if wanted).

3. Project Roles
Project owner can give each team member a different role for the project and tasks.
(Roles changes the access rights on that project)

4. Lots of things coming….

Some of the Reports that has been made to be shown in the menu by Default. Every user can add their own Reports with the Filters they want. For example if you add a Filter in the Tasks: Field, Include, Current user (or select your username) then it shows only tasks that you have been assigned to.

Next steps

We’re building the first version right now.

You can register already and fill your own profile. Note that creating a profile is 3 step process.
1. Register to the platform https://projects.olohuone.fi/
2. After your Username is activated you can create an User Profile (this will be ”public information” inside the platform.
3. After you have created the User Profile, you need to click it (your User Profile) and then you can fill the rest of data, including skills, products, you own stuff etc…

Reason to have kinda two users is that first registration is for the ”system” and the User Profile is meant to be seen by other users inside the platform. There might be changes still that same main user is the user everywhere inside the platform but for more privacy there is this ”double” profile system. How ever the Project section may require to use real names always becaus of possible legal agreements and IP rights etc. Time and community will tell….
